FISHING INFORMATION NIGHT SET FOR FEBRUARY 6 AT OVERLAND PARK

Learn to find and catch the big fish

Think you know where the really big fish are? Do you have that burning question about your favorite lake? Maybe even a question about a fishing regulation that doesn’t make sense. Then the place for you to be is the “Third Annual Fish Night” at the Johnson County Community College, Carlsen Center Room 211, 12345 College Blvd., Overland Park, KS 66210, on Friday Feb. 6.

The event will last from 7 p.m. to 9 pm. and will include talks from fisheries biologists Richard Sanders (Clinton), Ely Sprenkle (Tuttle Creek), Chuck Bever (Hillsdale), and Kirk Tjelmeland (Perry). Pomona and La Cygne reservoirs will also be covered. Each biologist will present an overview of area reservoir fisheries and local smaller lakes of interest. KDWP's Jason Goeckler will discuss aquatic nuisance species, as well.

Participants need only bring questions. For more information, contact the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks Region 2 Office, 785-273-6740.
