POLAR SWINE BBQ CONTEST FEBRUARY 7 AT EISENHOWER STATE PARK
Winter cookout and campout a popular annual event; registrations due by Jan. 30
Eisenhower State Park will conduct the fourth annual Polar Swine Invitational Barbecue Contest on Feb. 7 at Ike's Shelter House & Campground. The event is a nontraditional barbecue cook-off and campout for hardy souls willing to brave the winter cold to participate in one of their favorite pastimes and pit their cooking skills against the best.
The event will run from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Registration is due by Jan. 30. The $100 registration fee includes a park vehicle and overnight camping permit. Extra fees are included for those who wish to camp two nights, use electrical hookups, and purchase event T-shirts. Forty percent of the prize pool money will be awarded to the Grand Champion entrant, and 20 percent will be awarded in three other categories.
