NEMAHA COUNTY PHEASANTS FOREVER TO CONDUCT GAME HABITAT SEMINAR
Event takes place March 31 at Valentino’s in Seneca
SENECA -- The Nemaha County Chapter of Pheasants Forever will conduct a game habitat seminar at 6:30 p.m. March 31 at Valentino’s South Room in Seneca. After the audience is settled in with free beverages and snacks, Pheasants Forever Senior Field Coordinator Pete Berthelsen of Elba, Neb., will begin the event with an overview of pheasant and quail management philosophies developed over his career. His theme will be "15 Coveys On 160 Acres."
At 8:15 p.m., Cory Alderson, Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks field biologist from Manhattan, will present an update on the Kansas Upland Bird Habitat Initiative. Alderson will be followed at 8:30 p.m. by Texas biologist and outdoor personality Larry Weishuhn. Weishuhn will speak about whitetail deer habitat and management practices. As a wildlife biologist, Weishuhn has helped establish deer management practices across North America.
