Tuttle Creek park staff hosting river float as part of the 2014 National Trails Day celebration

PRATT – Grab your life jacket, some SPF-30, a paddle, and take part in Tuttle Creek State Park’s float trip July 26 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the Kansas River. Canoers and kayakers will start at Blue River Bridge in Manhattan, off Highway 24, and float downriver to St. George, where a shuttle will escort participants back to the starting point. Bring your own boat or rent a canoe or kayak through the park office for $20 by calling ahead of time. To register for the event, call (785) 539-7941.

This event is being held as part of the American Hiking Society’s 2014 National Trails Day celebration, which took place June 7, 2014. Due to rain and high waters when the event was originally scheduled, the float trip was rescheduled for July 26. For more information on National Trails Day, visit www.AmericanHiking.org.
