PRATT – The Fourth of July and Kansas state parks go together like ice cream and apple pie, and both are American traditions. Kansans love to spend the Independence Day weekend enjoying the outdoors, and Kansas state parks are the perfect venues. While personal fireworks aren’t allowed in Kansas state parks, several parks will host fantastic fireworks displays open to anyone with a state park vehicle permit. Call your local state park office for details even if they aren’t on this list. Park staff may have last-minute events planned that you won’t want to miss.

If you plan to watch the festivities from a boat, be sure to practice safe boating procedures.
