Flint Hills Trail Advisory Council to Meet July 9
PRATT – Trail enthusiasts and members of the general public are encouraged to attend the Flint Hills Trail Advisory Council’s quarterly meeting on July 9. The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Building, 101 E. Main, in Herington.
Topics slated for discussion include an update on the trail’s next phase of construction; the trail’s naturalist position; information on current trail projects and upcoming events; highlights from Trails Day; and, planned updates to area maps and online trail information.
Formed in 2018, the Flint Hills Trail Advisory Council was established to study and assess trail development, staffing, maintenance and promotions.
Now designated as one of Kansas’ newest state parks, the Flint Hills Trail extends 117 miles from Osawatomie to Herington, passing through five counties – Miami, Franklin, Osage, Lyon, and Morris.
