BE ON THE LOOKOUT!

There are many plants, including flowers, that only blossom seasonally and may not be found during certain times of the year. Because of that, we cannot put posts at every spot a flower had previously grown. In the past, we have had:

• Snakeroot (Eupatorium rugosum)

SMALL WHITE FLOWERS—This plant can be toxic to cattle when ingested causing “trembles.” The toxicity is passed through milk and when ingested by humans causes “milk sickness.”

• CatClaw (Mimosa quadrivalvis)

SPINEY LEAVES WITH BALL-SHAPED PINK FLOWERS DOTTED WITH YELLOW POLLEN– When touched, the leaves of this plant close. Catclaw seeds have been used as a laxative.

• Purple Coneflower (Echinacea agustifolia)

TALL STALKS WITH DARK, PRICKLEY CONE SURROUNDED BY SPREADING PURPLE PETALS

Cabin amenities include:

• One full size bed, one full size futon, one couch, and one twin Murphy style bed
• Bathroom with walk in shower
• Kitchen with oven and cook top
• Full size refrigerator

• Can opener
• Basic cooking utensils and place setting for six

• Table with bench and two chairs

Exterior amenities include:

• Deck and concrete patio
• Covered charcoal grill
• Fire ring
• Picnic tables

Items guests must provide:

• Bedding for two full size and two twin size – Beds fitted with mattress covers only.
• Towels and other linens
• Personal hygiene items
• Charcoal and lighter fluid for outside grill
• Firewood
• Television, internet, and phone services are not provided

"The Upland" is a one bedroom, rustic cabin which can sleep up to five. Bedding consists of a large, full over full sized bunkbed and a twin sized Murphy Bed. This cabin also includes a modest living area, dining table and chairs, a large counter, a microwave, a coffee maker, a charcoal grill, a small refridgerator, air conditioning and heat and a freeze proof hydrant just outside. The Upland is also equipped with a spacious deck and picnic table, which is shaded by a cedar pergola, exterior outlets and lighting and a large campfire ring. This facility is handicap accessible and within a very short walking distance to a family style showerhouse facility which is open year-round.

• Weekends: $70 /night - two nights minimum weekends

Honey Locust offers a bathroom with toilet, sink & stall shower, a kitchen with cook top stove (no oven), dorm size refrigerator, microwave, table and chairs. Kitchen items provided include basic pots, pans and utensils, coffeemaker (filters not provided), toaster, dishes, and silverware. There is a bunk bed and full size futon. The cabin can sleep up to four. (bed linens, pillows and towels not provided)

The cabin also has a toadstool shelter included with it, along with a charcoal grill, picnic table, and fire ring.
