Kirwin Reservoir Fishing Information

|Crappie||Fair||7 to 17 inches||Anglers have been fishing the north and south shore fish attractors. Crappies are being caught using jigs and slab spoons around the brush piles. Have also had reports of a fish being caught up in the coves using jigs and minnows under a bobber. Just finished adding new trees to the south two fish attractors.|
|Walleye||Fair||14 to 29 inches||Did have reports of fish being caught along the Dam, along the river channel and up in Bow Creek. Best methods are using jigs with twister tail's, crank baits and night crawlers.|
|White Bass/ Wiper||Fair||10 to 26 inches||Did have reports of fish being caught around the North Boat Ramp and Crappie Point using jigs with twister tails, road runners and crank baits. Trolling diving lures has also been productive.|
|Catfish||Fair||10 to 30 inches||Did hear of some catfish being caught up the North Fork Solomon and in Bow Creek using shad and stink bait on the bottom. These fish have been moving upstream due to the new water that is coming in.|
|Largemouth Bass||Fair||12 to 20 inches||Did have reports of fish being caught off the Dam and rocky area using jigs and crankbaits. Also catching them up in the coves. Remember there is a 15-inch length limit on bass.|
WATER TEMPERATURE- 64°
SURFACE ELEVATION- 1732.68 ---- 3.43' above conservation pool
Currently, the water level is 3.03' higher than it was one year ago, at this time.
Irrigation releases were shut off on 8-26-2019 and 45 cfs is being released to the river to stabilize the lake's elevation.
Fish cleaning station is NO LONGER on the NE corner of the square in Kirwin. The USFWS, BOR and KDWPT constructed a new facility just West of the water tower. The fish cleaning station has been shut down for the winter.

Remember it is illegal to release any fish into public water unless it was taken from that water. Please discard leftover bait in a trash can.
