CHEYENNE BOTTOMS - Last Updated: 8/9/2019

Waterfowl numbers

Some perimeter parking lots are cabled off due to high water and poor road conditions.

Few Canada geese. Good number of ducks present considering the time of year.  5,000-10,000 ducks mostly bluewings, redheads, wood ducks, mallards, and ruddy ducks.  Hatched a lot of bluewing teal on the area.

If the report has not been updated in a few days, please assume that conditions and bird numbers are the same as the last update.

Water level 1A-68", 1B-46", 1C-46", 2-23", 3A-8", 3B-20", 4A-21", 4B-shallow trapped sheet water, 5-24"
Hunting conditions So far disked about 100 acres of cattails in 4B.  Planted 35 acres of millet in 4B.  3A is being pumped out.  Will be spraying 600 acres of cattails in 4A in the next couple weeks.
Expected hunting success Poor.  Deep water throughout spring and the first half of summer prevented germination of moist soil plants, cattail and phragmites control, and planting of millet.
