All things “butterfly” will be the focus of the Kansas Wetlands Education Center’s (592 NE K-156 Highway, Great Bend) Butterfly Festival, scheduled for Sept. 18, 2021, 9 a.m-noon. From puppet shows conducted by Stone Lion Puppet Theatre to catching and tagging monarch butterflies, kids and adults will find plenty to do during this free event, highlighting the importance of butterflies, pollinators and their habitats. To keep participants safe, most activities will be conducted outdoors with social distancing. Masks are required for everyone while indoors.
