OUTDOOR EVENTS CONTINUE IN AUGUST

Sand castle contests, ski championships, stargazing, sailing, canoe races: August packed with summer events

PRATT -- Kansas organizations and state parks will continue to host a variety of outdoor events and activities as August winds down summer. Some state parks will celebrate with Free Entrance Days. Local organizations will also schedule events to cater to the interests all outdoor users. In addition, fishing tournaments and hunter education courses will be held at many parks and other locations.

Summer offers a wide variety of fun summer outdoor activities. Some are very popular and well-known, such as fishing and camping. The following is a list of just a few of the more unusual events yet to be held.
