HAVE A HAPPY “OUTDOOR” THANKSGIVING

Nov. 27, 2014

State parks and wildlife areas are open, but offices closed over holiday

PRATT – With mild weather forecast through the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend, spending time outdoors hunting, fishing or hiking can be a perfect way for families to enjoy time together. Kansas state parks and wildlife areas offer great outdoor opportunities; however, while public lands and parks remain open, the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism reminds visitors that offices will be closed Nov. 27-30. Normal office hours will resume Dec. 1.

Permits and other issuances can be purchased at more than 600 license vendors across the state, and most can also be purchased online at www.ksoutdoors.com. The KDWPT website also has just about any information you’ll need to enjoy the outdoors safely and legally.

Happy Thanksgiving from the staff at KDWPT, who hope everyone has a chance to enjoy the outdoors this fall.
