Kansas 2019 Sunflower Games

The Fishing Derby is back as part of the 30th anniversary of the Kansas Sunflower games. The date is July 27th, 2019. Registration will open at Lake Shawnee Jr fishing lake at 7:30 and we will fish from 8:15 to 9:45. There is a $5.00 processing fee per participant.  Fishing will be divided into 3 age groups. Gold, Silver and Bronze medals will be awarded for the 3 biggest catfish and the 3 biggest other fish in the three age divisions: 7 & under, 8 – 11, and 12 – 15.

There will be a commemorative tee shirt only to participants who register by June 30th at www.sunflowergames.com but you can also register the day of the derby.

Ralph Arensdorf Youth Fishing Tournament

Free Fishing Tournament open to youth age 4-15 at Hoover Pond in Riverside Park, Kingman.  Limited number of poles available so participants are encouraged to bring own equipment.  Prizes will be awarded after the event.  Registration begins at NOON.

Harvey County Fair

Location: 800 West 1st St Newton, KS

Fishing's Future and the Harvey County Parks Dept will be setting up the fishing tank so kids can fish at the Harvey County Fair.  FREE for all kids 15 and under.

Clinton State Park will host their annual Outdoor Kansas Kids day on August 10. Event time is still TBD.
