Cedar Lake in Olathe, KS, is the site of the 40th Olathe Kid’s Fishing Derby. The event will be held on July 23.

Registration in advance is encouraged and pre-registration guarantees a t-shirt for each participant.

Children ranging in age from 3 to 15 years and adults over the age of 60 may participate. Trophies will be awarded for biggest fish in the following categories:

· Boys 3 to 8

· Girls 3 to 8

· Boys 9 to 15

· Girls 9 to 15

· Seniors – 60 years and over

Food will be available for purchase from the Olathe Noon Optimist Club and shaved ice will be available as well.

Times for the event:

· Registration 7:30 to 9:00 am

· Fishing competition 9:00 to 10:30 am

· Compiling results 10:30 to 11:00 am

· Awards and prizes 11:00 to 11:30 am
