The following is a list of all hunting seasons
- Bag limits in Units 3, 5, and 6 (Northeast, Southcentral, and Southeast) have been reduced from two turkeys to one turkey. This change is effective beginning with the spring 2020 season.
- Game tags – which allow the take of a second turkey – will not be valid in Units 3, 5, and 6. This change is effective beginning with the spring 2020 season.
- The fall season has been reduced to 41 days in all open units. The 2020 fall season will run Oct. 1-Nov. 10, 2020. Unit 4 remains closed to fall hunting.

Youth/Disabled Season: April 1-13, 2021; Legal Equipment: archery equipment and shotguns and muzzleloading shotguns using shot sizes 2 through 9.
Archery-Only Season: April 5-13, 2021; Legal Equipment: long, recurve, compound bows and crossbows.
Regular Season: April 14 - May 31, 2021; Legal Equipment: archery equipment and shotguns and muzzleloading shotguns using shot sizes 2 through 9.
Shooting Hours: One-half hour before sunrise to sunset.
Limit: Any individual who has purchased a spring turkey permit is eligible for one second turkey game tag. Spring game tags are valid for Units 1 and 2.
HUNTING & TRAPPING
NOTE: All furbearer hunting, trapping, and running seasons begin at 12:01 on opening day and close at midnight of closing day.
Species: badger, bobcat, mink, muskrat, opossum, raccoon, swift fox, red fox, gray fox, striped skunk, weasel.
Season Dates (statewide): Nov. 18, 2020 - Feb. 15, 2021 Limit: No limit.
BEAVER AND OTTER TRAPPING

NO OPEN TRAPPING OR HUNTING SEASON ON ANY OTHER FURBEARERS
RUNNING
- Species: bobcat, opossum, raccoon, red fox, and gray fox.
- Season Dates (statewide): March 1-Nov. 8
- Legal hours for running furbearers is 24 hours daily. Furbearers cannot be killed or taken during the running season. A furharvester license is required to run furbearers. It is illegal to possess any firearm or other hunting or trapping equipment while pursuing these animals during the running season.
COYOTES HUNTING & TRAPPING
- Season Dates (statewide): All year
- Possession Limit: No limit.
No closed season for trapping or hunting coyotes. Motor vehicles and radios in vehicles may be used to hunt coyotes only. Furharvester license required to trap and sell; hunting license required to hunt.
- Nonresident Deer Permit Draw: Application period April 1 thru April 30, 2021
- Resident Any-Deer Firearms Permit Draw: Application period May 11 thru June 11, 2021

Youth and Disability: Sept. 4 - Sept. 12, 2021
Youth 16 and younger, who possess a valid deer permit, may hunt during this special deer season only while under the immediate supervision of an adult 18 or older. Any person who possesses a valid deer permit and has a permit to hunt from a vehicle pursuant to KAR 115-18-4 or a disability assistance permit issued pursuant to KAR 115-18-15 may also hunt during this season. All resident and nonresident permits are valid, and equipment restrictions designated on permits apply. Hunter orange is required.
Muzzleloader: Sept. 13 - Sept. 26, 2021
The following permits may be used during this season in units specified on permit, using muzzleloader or archery equipment: resident or nonresident Muzzleloader Either-species/Either-sex Permit, resident Any-Season White-tailed Deer Permit, nonresident Muzzleloader White-tailed Deer Permit, Hunt-Own-Land Permit, Special Hunt-Own-Land Permit, Antlerless White-tailed Deer Permit, and Antlerless Either-Species Deer Permit. Hunter orange clothing is required
Archery: Sept. 13 - Dec. 31, 2021
Pre-Rut Firearm Whitetail Antlerless-Only: Oct. 9 - Oct. 11, 2021
Any permit that allows the harvest of a whitetailed antlerless deer is valid during this season. Equipment and unit restrictions on permit imposed. Hunter orange clothing is required. Ft. Riley unit CLOSED for pre-rut season.

Extended Archery Whitetail Antlerless-Only Deer Seasons: Jan. 24 - 31, 2022 (Unit DMU 19 ONLY)
Number of Whitetail Antlerless-Only (WAO) Permits a hunter may purchase is 5 but they may use them as follows:
- The first antlerless whitetail permit shall be valid for units 1 thru 17 and 19, including KDWPT managed public hunting areas within those units.
- Four additional antlerless whitetail permits may be issued to the same individual and are valid only in units TBD on private lands with landowner permission, Walk-In Hunting Areas, and Glen Elder, Kanopolis, Lovewell, Norton, Webster and Wilson Wildlife Areas and Kirwin National Wildlife Refuge.
NO ANTLERLESS WHITETAIL PERMITS VALID IN UNIT 18.
