The park office will be open from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. with special events throughout the day.
They include:
9:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.
- Disc Golf tournament will consist of two divisions, "Casual" and "Competitive." "Casual" entries will play a single round through the course and "Competitive" entries will play a full 18 holes. Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 placers in each division. A short players meeting and check in will be held at 9:30 am next to hole 1. There is no cost for this event. - A guided tour of the CCC campsite trail and museum will take place at the entrance of the park. Experience living history, as told by the park's naturalist or just walk the one quarter mile self-guided interpretive trail. The museum will be open showing off several artifacts from the camp. However you choose to take in this walk through the past, it is sure to be a family pleaser.
- Cabin Open House and Touch a Fire Truck presentations will be held at Evening Breeze Point. Come and visit one of the park's modern rental cabins and tour its amenities. We will be baking homemade cookies and samples will be available to all. While you are at the cabin, the Sherman Township Fire Department will have one of their front line fire trucks there and open to display. Firefighters will explain each piece of equipment and how it is used. Participants are encouraged to try on bunker gear, breathe with air packs and explore each piece of rescue equipment.
1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
- There will be a kids fishing clinic starting at 1:00 p.m. Various stations will be set up to teach kids the basics of being a successful angler. From a live fish ID to a casting competition. You will not want to miss out on this great opportunity to learn about the ins and outs of fishing. No license will be required during the fishing portion of the clinic.
