This is Ottawa Bike and Trail's third Moonrise Bike Ride Overnight Adventure.  Load up your bikes and ride the Flint Hills Trail to Pomona Lake State Park for an evening of food, music, and camping.   You can choose to ride the traditional, 20-mile, route from Ottawa to Pomona State Park.  Or, you can choose the NEW 50-mile route from Council Grove to Pomona State Park.  Or, you can choose to ride both routes, provided you have transportation back to your starting point. Midwest Endurance brings you Ultrapalooza! It’s the flattest, awesome-est, running-est party in the Midwest! The trail crosses the beautiful Flint Hills and the race will start at the newly constructed Osawatomie trailhead (Mile Zero). The Flint Hills represent one of the last remaining tallgrass prairie ecosystems in the world. This marathon will feature 1/2 marathon, 50k, 50 mile, 100k and 100 mile distance options to test the might of a novice runner to the most experienced, dedicated runner. The route will feature both manned and unmanned aid stations that will are fully stocked with water, hammer nutrition heed electrolyte drinks, snack foods, sandwiches, chips, candy, hammer gels, and more. Stomp out Suicide is a walk to provide training and resources in our schools and community.  All donations, entry fees etc. will be available to all schools within Miami County to assist with training for awareness of mental health challenges within the schools. Please join us at the Osawatomie (Mile Zero) trailhead September 17th at 9:00AM where the Miami County Community Foundation will be hosting a 3K walk on the trail with entry fee and silent auction to benefit suicide awareness within the community. Ozone USD 367 Sport and Fitness Zone will be hosting a Turkey Trot Fun on the Flint Hills Trail with three different distance options - 1mile, 4k, and 10mile.  Participants will park at Mile 0 and bus 10 mile participants to Rantoul where they will head northwest a bit before looping back around and heading towards Osawatomie.  5K participants will do the same at the Indianapolis crossing. Lagerhead Marathon (KC Running Co.)

This is an All Day Event

This third annual event features a flat out and back course along the Prairie Spirit Trail, a compressed crushed limestone rails to trail course starting and ending in Ottawa, Kansas.  The course is a certified out and back course heading southeast from downtown Ottawa. We ask all marathon and half marathon finishers to complete their race by 3:00pm.  The top three male and female finishers in each event will receive awards along with the top male and female masters finishers in each event. All participants will receive a custom finishers medal. Participants can add a t-shirt ($8) and/ or a sweatshirt ($40) to their registration. All participants 21 and over will also have a craft beer from local brewery Not Lost Brewing waiting for them at the finish line after the race.
