The Astronomical Society of Kansas City presents a night under the stars at Hillsdale State Park around Shelter 3. Highlights include a laser guided tour of the summer constellations and a telescopic tour of the summer Milky Way and its star clouds, nebulas, open and globular star clusters. We start around sunset. Please apply any insect repellant you may use before coming to the telescopes as the chemicals in the sprays damage the optics. After dark we ask that white light flashlight use be kept to a minimum as it will reduce everyone's ability to see the objects in the night sky and if you drove - please park with your headlights aiming away from the viewing area.
