Celebrate the opening of Kansas’ Newest State Park at the Inaugural “Kaw River Run”. This unique four mile course will take runners on a scenic tour of beautiful MacLennan Park and Kaw River State Park. The course winds through the Menninger campus, past Cedar Crest and on the newly constructed trails in the Kaw River State Park. Start and Finish will be at the entrance to the Kaw River State Park 5630 SW 6th Ave, Topeka, Kansas 66606 between Cedar Crest property and the Menninger Campus. Parking is available at the Security Benefit parking lot on the south side of sixth street.

Entry fees:

  • Pre-entry fee— $25.00 (by August 16th)
  • Race Day fee—$30

Kansas River State Park T-shirt for all entrants! Unique awards for the top three male and female finishers. Age group awards for the top two male and female in ten age groups Awards ceremony at 10:00am with the Governor and Mrs. Parkinson.

Proceeds from the Kaw River Run will go to support Let’s Help Adult Education Program: which offers free instruction in math, reading, writing, and computer skills. Students may work on completing high school or preparing for the GED. Participants receive an individual learning plan and benefit from a structure geared to the non traditional student.
