LOVEWELL STATE PARK NEWS, NOTES AND HAPPENINGS!! Updated weekly.

The Lovewell State Park Office is open 8am to 4:00pm Monday thru Friday; Closed Saturday/Sunday. You can also utilize the new CampItKS app,  reserveamerica.com and campitks.com for online park purchases; and license.gooutdoorskansas.com for license purchases. Self Pay Station and Kiosk are also available for walk-in campsites and daily vehicle permits.

LOVEWELL RESERVOIR IS REMAINS UNDER A WARNING STATUS FOR HARMFUL BLUE-GREEN ALGAE. 

  • Harmful algae are possible and may be present.
  • Water may be unsafe for humans/animals.
  • Avoid areas of algae accumulation, and do not let people/pets eat dried algae or drink contaminated water.
  • Swimming, wading, skiing, and jet skiing are discouraged near-visible blooms. Beach area is closed.
  • Inhalation of the water spray may affect some individuals. Avoid direct contact with water, and wash with clean water after any contact.
  • Clean fish well with potable water, and eat fillet portions only.

Fire Ban has been lifted!  

All utility campgrounds and dump stations are open, and all shower/restroom facilities are open. The Rose Hill Dump Station is one lane, enter from the West. Lovewell Marina is open 8am to 2pm Monday thru Thursday, 8am to 8pm Friday and Saturday, and 8am to 6pm Sunday.

As of 9-25-23, Lovewell Reservoir is 6.5 ft below conservation pool. Please use caution and watch for low water hazards while boating. Cedar Point Boat Ramp is available for boat launching, but  the Marina Boat Ramp is only recommended for small boats. 

2023 Kansas Park Permits and Campsite Reservations are now available! 

2023 Park Permits and campsite reservations are available to purchase through ReserveAmerica.com, campitks.com, or through the Lovewell State Park Office. Reservations are available for most utility campsites at Lovewell State Park, and also the Willow Primitive 24hour generator sites. Reservations for Lovewell State Park’s rustic and deluxe camping cabins are available 364 days in advance through the same websites, or through the state park office during regular business hours. 

Fishing and hunting licenses can be purchased online. Other options for purchase of your hunting or fishing license are:

The 2023 Lovewell Spring Newsletter is now available to view and print!! Click the link below! 

Frontier, Pioneer, Pine Ridge and Sunrise Camping Cabins are designated as a "PET FRIENDLY" cabin. Customers who wish to bring their pets for their stay at these Camping Cabins will need to choose the "Pet Friendly" option on the online reservation page (or request it during a telephone reservation), and pay an add'l fee of $50.00. All other cabins remain as "No Pets Allowed". Pets must be kept outside in a kennel or on a secured chain or leash.
