Lovewell State Park


The Lovewell State Park Office is open 8am to 4:30pm Monday thru Friday, closed Saturday and Sunday. You can also utilize the new CampItKS app, HuntFishKS app, and for online purchases.

2021 Park Permits and Hunt/Fish licenses are now available for purchase. 2021 campsite reservations are also open now for all utility campgrounds and the Willow 24hr Generator Loop, dates can be reserved April through October.  

The Lovewell Marina and Grill is closed for the season. 

As of 1-20-21, Lovewell Reservoir is 1.5 feet below conservation pool. 

Winter camping facilities open and available:  Walleye Point Utility Campground, South Willow Utility Campground, Southwinds Utility Campsites, and all primitive camping areas. Walleye Point Shower/Restroom facility is open year-round, as well as a public restroom/shower facility at the State Park Maintenance Building. The Walleye Point Dump Station is open, but no potable or flush water available. Dumpsters are located at the state park maintenance building. 

With regard to the Governor's Executive Order for mask-wearing: since the Kansas State Parks environment already lends itself well to social distancing, the wearing of masks is still optional in all areas of Lovewell State Park. ALL VISITORS SHOULD CONTINUE TO OBSERVE 6 FT OF SOCIAL DISTANCING IN ALL AREAS OF THE PARK. 

Fishing licenses and park permits can be purchased online. Other options for purchase of your hunting or fishing license are:

Kansas Hunting and Fishing licenses are now sold on a 365 format, meaning those licenses are valid for 365 days from the date of purchase. Annual Park Permits are still valid for the calendar year.  Customers who purchase an Annual or 14Day Camping permit receive a $10 per-night discount on any standard campsite (excluding cabins). Utility fees still apply as necessary.

Camping Cabin reservations are available up to 364 days in advance. 2020 campsite reservations are available April thru September at, or by calling the office during business hours. Remember, Kansas residents can purchase their Annual Park Passport at a reduced rate with vehicle registration at the courthouse!

Frontier, Pioneer, Pine Ridge and Sunrise Camping Cabins are designated as a "PET FRIENDLY" cabin. Customers who wish to bring their pets for their stay at these Camping Cabins will need to choose the "Pet Friendly" option on the online reservation page (or request it during a telephone reservation), and pay an add'l fee of $50.00. All other cabins remain as "No Pets Allowed". Pets must be kept outside in a kennel or on a secured chain or leash.

Special events for 2021 will again be limited to activities where distancing can be maintained. Tentative Events for 2021 are:
