Sunflower Summer 2023 Kansas State Parks
From May 26th through August 13th the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks will be partnering with the Kansas Department of Education to offer Kansas students (K - 12) with free outdoor recreational opportunities through the Sunflower Summer Program. Kansas students and their families can enter each Kansas State Park one time with a free vehicle permit provided by this program (vehicle permits must be picked up at Park Office or Gate House same day as visit). Along with park access, listed below are our special camping events offered through this program. Kansas State Parks invite you and your family to come stay with us for an afternoon and evening full of outdoor activities. Tents will be available for 30 families wanting to take part in this campout. Families MUST Pre-Register to attend this event. Tents will be provided for each family (up to 6 family members per tent). Supper will be provided for all registered families.

Kansas State Parks will offer one night camping opportunities for Sunflower Summer participants. Three Kansas State parks will be hosting one night camping opportunities throughout the Sunflower Summer Program. Up to five campsites will be available per park per camp night (pre-registration is required). These camp nights will include a one-night stay at a state park campsite, a tent (tents can fit up to 6 family members), and a day permit to access the state park. Registration for each camp night closes a week prior to the event.
